This is one of my most requested blog posts. After living through 1.5 Norwegian winters I guess I’m now a professional winter dresser! To be honest, it’s so hard to be fashionable in -10 and there’s snow up to your ankles. That being said there are a few tips and tricks to being stylish in the snow.
The statement puffer
A good puffer jacket is very practical in the snow but why not bring a little oomph by choosing something that makes a statement. You don’t need to go crazy – I got this baby pink puffer from Moncler when I was in LA and I’ve worn it so much because it goes with everything and is super warm. Go for a bold colour, leopard print or unexpected details instead of something so out there you’re never going to wear it again.
The teddy coat
If you follow me on Instagram you know my favourite teddy coats are from Ducie London. I have a the classic brown and leopard print. They are such good value and very warm. Teddy coats cozy and look great over casual wear or an evening dress. One downside is they are a nightmare to pack because they’re so big so I’d wear this to the airport and squish your puffer in your bag!
Stand out scarves
Accessories are the easiest way to elevate your winter look. If you don’t want to invest in a new jacket or coat, throw on a statement scarf to reinvigorate your existing outerwear. I love the faux fur options from Charlotte Simone, her cuffs sit perfectly over leather jackets in the Fall too.
Boot scootin’ baby
Good winter boots are essential in Norway. I made the mistake last year of buying unlined leather boots, my poor toes froze! My favourites this season have been my trusty Moon Boots and lined Jimmy Choo biker boots.
