LA Beauty Haul

While we were in LA I picked up some new beauty bits at Sephora. I always do my beauty shopping outside Oslo because it’s so much cheaper. I’ve had my eye on these two products from Drunk Elephant for a while so they were at the top my list. I’ve had these products for over a month now so I’ve given them a proper test run and I’m so happy with them!

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb

After a solid 2 years only wearing a matte lip this Fenty Beauty gloss has me converted. It’s a rose-nude shade that is sheer enough to let your natural lip colour come through but really packs a punch in glossiness.  The doe foot applicator is super soft and picks up enough product that you only need to swipe it across your lips once. That might not matter too much to you but one of my beauty gripes is when you have to pump the applicator over and over just to get any product out (so annoying!). I’m loving this gloss so much I wore it out almost every day in LA since I got it!

Tartelette Flirt Palette

Tartelette palette

I’m always on the hunt for that perfect eye palette. I’m yet to find one that has every shade I need for a full look but this comes pretty close. The Tartelette Flirt Palette has six shades, 4 matte and 2 shimmers but is a little compact box which perfect for travelling. I picked this up in that minis section at the Sephora checkout (such a dangerous place) and was amazed at how pigmented the shades are when I swatched them. The quality of this palette is seriously good. The mattes are buttery and in perfect warm neutral shades and the shimmers are pigmented whether you pick them up with a brush or use your finger. The shimmers are a beautiful rose gold and red/copper shade. I’m definitely bringing this palette with me on future trips.

**Update: I’ve bee wearing this pretty much everyday on my trip to Marbella so if you’re wondering what I’ve been using in my Insta-stories, this is it!

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream

I’ve been wanting to try more Drunk Elephant products since I started using their Vit C Serum (read more on this here) and the Lala Retro cream did not disappoint. It’s a moisturizer containing a blend of six African oils and has a creamy rich texture but without feeling heavy or suffocating the skin. I’ve got combination skin and my cheeks can very quickly feel dry and irritated but this leaves my face feeling nourished and soft. I love the packaging too! It’s got one of those push down tops so you don’t have to put your fingers in the product, you get a perfect hygienic amount every time.

Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial

Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial

The other Drunk Elephant product I’ve wanted to try was the TLC Sukari Babyfacial mask. I was uming and ahing about this one in store because as I mentioned my cheeks can get very irritated so I’m always conscious of any super active products that contain acids, retinols etc. However, this product has had such rave reviews, I had to give it a go (anything for that glow am I right!). Basically the Babyfacial is a resurfacing mask with a 25% AHA and 2% BHA blend of Glycolic, Tartaric, Lactic, Citric and Salicylic acids. That is a really high dose, hence the hesitation. I’ve used this once a week for the past month or so and I’m in love! It definitely tingles on application and I let it sit for about 15-20 mins and then rinse with warm water. Babyfacial is right! My skin is so soft and smooth without that dry, irritated feeling some from masks. I’ve only used this once a week but I think I’ve adjusted to it now so will probably up that to twice a week. I don’t use retinols after this mask, I just follow with a serum and the Lala Retro cream. Another Drunk Elephant product for the win!

P.S. This post wasn’t sponsored by Sephora, Drunk Elephant or any of the brands mentioned above.
